This week in Vineville’s Spotlight, we feature our
newest members, Laurie, Ashton and Sands Windham.
Which worship service and Sunday school class do you
attend? Disciples Sunday School Class and the 11am Church Service
How long have you been a member of the church? We joined this past weekend. Ashton has been a member of the First Baptist Church of Montezuma since he was 12 and
Laurie has been a member of First United Methodist Church in Enterprise, AL.
What are some things your family likes to do together or what are your hobbies? We both love snow skiing,
traveling, and going to football games together. Laurie’s hobbies include painting and gardening. Ashton’s include deer hunting and playing basketball.
Tell us a little about your family. Laurie and I met in college at Auburn University, but started dating after college while Laurie was in pharmacy school. We were
married April of 2013 and moved to Macon. We added to our family with the birth of Sands on March 7, 2016.
What’s the best vacation you’ve been on? Laurie and I went on a Mediterranean cruise to Rome, Italy, Messina, Sicily, Ephesus, Turkey, Athens, Greece and the island of Crete.
What attracted you to Vineville or what is your favorite thing about Vineville? We had friends that attended regularly and out of all the churches we visited, we felt most at home at Vineville.
Do you have any good family traditions? We do go to Amelia Island each year in June for the Georgia Health Care Association convention with our family.
What do you do for a living? Laurie is a Pharmacist and Ashton works as the Chief Financial Officer for his family’s business that owns and manages long-term care
facilities.
If you could choose anything to do for a day, what would it be? Laurie would like to fly somewhere she has never been for the day, have a nice dinner, and fly back.
Ashton would like to snow ski.
What are a few of your favorite books and/or movies? Laurie’s favorite books/movies are Meet Joe Black, The Notebook, and The Catcher in the Rye. Ashton’s favorite
movies are Forrest Gump, The Shawshank Redemption, and The Blues Brothers and favorite books are Chiefs by Stuart Woods, The World is Flat by Thomas Friedman, Freakonomics by Steven Levitt and The Tipping Point by Malcolm Gladwell.
