What is Stephen Ministry?
Stephen Ministry congregations equip and empower lay caregivers—called Stephen Ministers—to provide high-quality, confidential, Christ-centered care to people who are hurting.
There are three roles in the Stephen Ministry program.
- Stephen Leaders help recruit, train, and coordinate with Stephen Ministers and connect them with care receivers.
- Stephen Ministers are the laypeople providing companionship and care for those navigating a painful situation in life.
- Care Receivers are those open to having a Stephen Minister to support them in their time of need.
