This week’s spotlight is on Griffin Ver Steeg.

Which worship service and Sunday school class do you attend? I play music in the 9am service and record the 11am TV broadcast.

How long have you been a member of the church? I’ve been here since January 2017!

What are some things you like to do/what are your hobbies? I love anything to do with film, music, or coffee. So writing and filming screenplays, writing and playing music with my friends, and making a good cup of coffee in the morning pretty much sums up my hobbies.

Tell us a little about yourself. I was born and raised in Macon. I went to Middle Georgia State University and got a degree in New Media and Film.  I’d like to move to New York City one day and work for an editing company producing commercials, music videos, and short films. I also have a wonderful girlfriend named, Emily, who works at Mercer University as an admissions counselor.

What’s the best vacation you’ve been on? I went to St. Thomas with my family in 4th grade. Nothing has topped that vacation since!

What attracted you to Vineville or what is your favorite thing about Vineville? I love the people here. Everyone is so warm-hearted and has made me feel so welcome to the
Vineville family.

Do you have any good family traditions? We don’t have many traditions, but one of my favorite ones is our “around-the-world” Christmas dinner. We pick an ethnic theme every year and prepare a huge dinner with food from that part of the world. This past year we had Mexican, complete with homemade taco shells, shrimp burritos, and, more importantly, cheese dip.

What do you do for a living? I work at Vineville producing media content and help with the youth.

If you could choose anything to do for a day, what would it be? I’d probably drive down to Savannah and have a relaxing day on the beach!

What are a few of your favorite books and/or movies? It’s hard to narrow down favorite movies or books, but I suppose some of my favorites would have to include Magnolia, Charlie Chaplin’s City Lights, and obviously, Back to the Future. My favorite books would have to include East of Eden, The Stranger, and Wise Blood.
